Marcello Giordani in Crested Butte

Crested Butte Music Festival welcomes tenor Marcello Giordani, "arguably the greatest leading tenor of his generation". Opera News
Marcello Giordani has been hailed by the international press as one of the most important tenors on the opera stage today. He has appeared in all of the world's major opera houses and has sung with many of today's most renowned conductors. His exceptional versatility and vocal range have allowed him to encompass a vast repertory, from the Bel Canto operas of Rossini, Donizetti and Bellini and the lyricism of the French operatic repertoire, to the more dramatic roles of Verdi, Puccini and Berlioz and, most recently, the popular Verismo operas of Mascagni and Leoncavallo: Cavalleria Rusticana e I Pagliacci. Mr Giordani will present a public master class on July 26th, and sing with a selected group of our young artists at a Special Event on July 29th.

A 2012 Grammy Award Winner, Ms. DiDonato, is renowned for her beautiful voice, mastery of diverse musical styles and compelling dramatic presence. Opera News magazine states: "The buoyant progress of DiDonato's career has been one of the happiest opera events of the past decade," while critics have called her technique "fearless" and praised performances ranging from "playful eroticism to imploding self-delusion to near-catatonic depression."
